2003 Toyota 4runner
Toyota noticed that midsize model SUVs experience higher sales, hence, they decided
to enlarge the fourth-generation Toyota runner for 2003. It was redesigned from
the ground up to its top without changing its priority. This is the reason why
Toyota 4Runner becomes lengthy, wider, and more powerful.
It was built in a wheelbase that has increased by 4 inches to give smoother,
comfortable ride and better handling. Its width is also increased by 4 inches
and it has a standard 17-inch all-season radials. The larger dimension resulted
to more car-like ride, handling and stability.
It has the standard V6 that cranks out 245 horsepower and 282 foot-pounds of
torque. Its optional V8 is rated at 235h.p, but has a capacity of 320 foot-pounds
of torque for a higher level of towing, pulling or hauling. With the increase
in size, Toyota 4Runner now provides a 23-gallon gas tank.
For 2003, the Toyota 4Runner comes in SR5, Sport and Limited versions. These
three versions posses standard equipment like automatic air conditioning, tilt/telescoping
steering wheel, power windows, locks, seats and 5,000-pound trailer hitch.
Other highlights of the 4Runner 2003 edition are the rear seats which can be
folded down without detaching the headrests, the double-deck cargo system that
can accommodate more loads and a floor panel that lifts and shelters along the
side walls creating a shelf were items can be placed on or under or both.
